regrets of the dying

I'd recently read this article called " Regrets of the Dying " which I found to be breathtaking. The author works for many years at the palliative care, with patients on their dying bed, and this article synthesizes the common regrets these ppl have.

as time goes by ppl are having some worries too. and these are all I could think of.

  • getting old and highly aware of passing time
  • getting sick and highly aware of fragility
  • seriously contemplating their lives and death for some reasons

We all know the only solution is to stop saying : I WISH I DID WHAT I WANT instead of what others wanted me to do. But as I'd said in the previous post, most ppl are insane including me where often we keep repeating the same thing over and over again while expecting the diff results so hey ya we are in the same routine recycling :)

Often ppl are telling that

" I wish I didn't study in Engineering because my family wanted me to do so. I wish I'd chosen Mass Com instead, which is my real passion.... "

" I wish I didn't get married so fast because all my friends were getting married expecting me to do the same thing soon. I wish I'd stayed single longer.... "

sounds familiar right? hahaha

Sometimes life is throwing us a curve ball that leading us to temporarily become someone other than who we really are. But inside, we're all good ppl. I think you are a good person too. We just have yet unleashing our inner BEAST on others. You are just way tooooo true to your values and voice, not wanted to break the layer of who you are because it is always hard to stay behind a facade that would shatter.

I am still learning not to fret about the past which I can't change and not overly concern with future which will show itself in due time. Focus on right now, this moment =) Distractions and annoyances are really plentiful but just dont let these minor things get under our skin. Nth is forever so take time to be thankful =D

Too bad the ability to stay positive cant be bought in a store and I am so glad that I'd attended a talk called 道与教的分析 ytday night that inspire me a lot. Days have been interesting. I'd started to gain momentum to storm through the ton of work, final year project, piling up lecture notes, assignments, real work out for badminton with fellow course mates which are truly fun and frolic, pulling out for parties, and it really makes me feeling good as a final year student =)

World is as big as you allow it to be.

xoxo
